History of the Talamore Llamas

Talamore Resort debuted in 1991. And while the opening of the magnificent Rees Jones design was highly anticipated from the Village of Pinehurst all the way across the Sandhills, it was the resort’s lovable llama caddies that helped put Talamore on the map. As was the case with many other golf courses at the time,…

Duke University Golf Club

Duke University Golf Club The University golf course was first envisioned in the early 1930’s when Coach Wallace Wade, Coach Eddie Cameron, and President William Preston Few inspected portions of the Duke Forest and discussed the desirability of a University course. Best 19th Holes in the Sandhills

Around the Home of American Golf — including Talamore Golf Club and Mid South Club — we often like to enjoy an ice-cold beverage following our round of golf. How to Beat the Heat for a Summer Golf Trip to Talamore

Few things are more enticing during a Village of Pinehurst golf vacation than enjoying an early round of golf on a summer morning, before the heat really cranks up, leaving golfers plenty of time to do whatever they like for the rest of the day. With an abundance of sunshine and daylight hours, summer is arguably the best season for North Carolina golf. New Sod Wall Bunkers Make Their Debut at Talamore

Talamore Golf Resort in Southern Pines, N.C., has taken a cutting-edge approach to enhancing its distinctive sod wall bunkers. The popular resort — which features Talamore, designed by Rees Jones and Mid-South Club designed by Arnold Palmer — has become one of the first golf courses in the country to install EcoBunkers. Ten sod wall bunkers at Talamore on holes 2, 5, 9, 15, and 17 are now lined with synthetic grass tiles that are layered and precision angled. While some of the bunkers stand as tall as 7 feet, they will not require as much expensive maintenance.

Talamore Golf Resort Adds Toptracer Range

Spring around the Village of Pinehurst area is the most popular time of year for a golf vacation. This spring, guests at Talamore Golf Resort in the “Home of American Golf” will be able to enjoy the resort’s new Toptracer Range. Talamore guests can experience interactive golf entertainment with the transformation of the Talamore’s driving range into a facility powered by Toptracer Range technology. The technology uses high-speed cameras, coupled with sophisticated computer algorithms, to provide instantaneous ball tracking information to guests using the range.
